Premium SMS Revenues
Due to the structure of Premium SMS, a charity will not receive the full price of the text message.
On a £1.50 message the breakdown is as follows:
17.5% (26.25p) is VAT
The mobile phone networks take a share of around 30% (39p)
txt4giving takes 5% to cover the costs of administering the system (4p)
The charity receives just over 80p from a £1.50 text message
With an additional 28% from Gift Aid, the charity will receive £1.03 from a £1.50 text message.
